About Me

I am a writer and explorer by nature.
I am a proponent of dreams...
Of seeking truth...
Of believing in destiny...
and of chasing God... And the best part is,
I think I can catch him.

I was born and raised in East Texas, and lived in Washington State and North Carolina before settling into my current location, a crunchy little suburb of Fort Worth, Texas, called North Richland Hills. I am a little bit married to my superhero better-half, Mark, I have three extraordinary children, and live 3 blocks from the Community Garden.

Although I work full‐time as Director of Human Resources for one of the top ten largest employers in Fort Worth, my passions truly lie in the non‐profit sector, volunteering and leading organizations. I currently sit on the board of the Eleanor League and the Nourish Collective, and volunteer for Sidelines International. I am a mother, a friend, a writer, a doula, and a manager, but I am, foundationally, just a

Girl
who is an eternal optimist,
full of hope,
and a curious student of the world around me.
I hope that in all my wanderings and journeys I am not confusing people about who God is. I really don't want to come across as Guru Joni with all the answers, I just hope that, through my example, people are empowered to explore and ask questions. Because, after all, the journey is about God, not the religion or the avenues we take to get to him. As Ghandi said, "God does not have a religion."
