the List

I've made dozens of these lists over the years and have successfully lost all of them, so this one I decided to keep on my blog for two reasons: (1) I can mark off publicly the things I accomplish. (2) I can't possibly lose it on my blog, right?
The list of 10+ things I want to do before I bite the dust:

1. Visit an island (South Padre and Galveston don't count)
2. Marry someone (not marry someone myself, I mean, marry 2 other people. Officiate a ceremony!)
3. Learn to make mojitos like the Bridge Lounge
4. Have a crawfish boil (these last 2 were inspired by my recent commitment ceremony trip to New Orleans)
5. Snow Ski
6. Take a ride on the back of a giant eagle. Or flying unicorn. If neither are available, try gliding, para-sailing, or skydiving.
7. Visit the Santa Fe Artists Market
8. Go to Burning Man.
9. Go to TED. (This one is really #1 most want to do!!!)
10. Be part of a flash mob.
11. Paint part of a mural.
12. Grow all my own vegetables for one summer.
13. Visit a Buddhist monastery and a Catholic convent.
14. Create something artistic all. by. my. self.
15. Have a house in the country. With a pool. The sooner the better!!
16. Visit all 50 states. (Current count: 23)
17. Teach my kids to be tolerant, compassionate, and generous.
18. Go to a drive-in movie.
19. Attend a Pride Parade.
20. Visit Big Bend. Camp there. Avoid getting eaten by something.
21. Visit Yellowstone and Jackson Hole. Same general vicinity, right?
22. Learn yoga.
23. Take one photo a day for a year. Yep, I am starting this soon. I bet as soon as I get back on facebook.
24. Go to graduate school.
25. Get paid for writing something (other than by food or CDs).
26. Take a burlesque class (this one used to say "take a belly  dancing class" then I went to a belly dancing class and it was AWFUL. So now I want to try burlesque!)
27. Meet people from at least 30 different religions!! This is a fun goal! I don't know if I can do it, but I'm going to try. So far, I have met: Christian, Catholic, Mormon, Hindu, Buddhist, Agnostic (is that a religion?), Jewish, Jain (different than Hindu), Sufi (different than Muslim), Muslim, New Age (it IS a religion. I promise), Jehovah's Witness, Vodou, Wiccan, Mennonite (probably counts a Christian, but...)... and I think that's it to date. I could be missing a couple. That's 15 so far. 15 to go.
28. Visit Lily Dale. Watch their spiritualist meetings. Wander the fairy trail.
29. Find my people; and, since they don't have a reservation, find a reservation to experience.
30. Go to PermaBurn. Write about the experience. Meet cool people. Dance, even though I'm a bad dancer. Get comfortable with the idea of being dirty. Drink coffee. Enjoy life. Go to Yosemite on the way.
